Product Support: CommVault QiNetix 4.2 End-of-Life Notice
This bulletin is part of our ongoing effort to keep you informed of product and support changes. To that end, we are hereby notifying you that CommVault will cease support for QiNetix version 4.2. See the table below for specific Product End of Life/End of Support Details. Please also note the list of QiNetix legacy platforms that are included in the table. As noted in the table below, Extended Assistance Support ended on December 301, 2005, therefore support for version 4.2 has ended.

CommVault values you as a customer and appreciate your patronage. Product End of Life/End of Support for QiNetix 4.2 will allow us to continue to deliver the highest quality CommVault QiNetix technology and support to meet your evolving requirements. The description of "Product End of Life/End of Support Details" follows. If you have questions about what releases are supported, please contact your CommVault sales representative.

Product End of Life/ End of Support Details:

  • Timetable — 
    Date Support Ends For: Description
    June 30, 2005 Error Correction CommVault will not deliver any maintenance patches for QiNetix 4.2. Effective end of support date for the following QiNetix legacy platforms:
    • AIX 4.3.2 and 4.3.3 (all iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • HP/UX 10.20 (all iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • Red Hat Linux 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7 and 8 (all iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • SuSe Linux 7.2, 7.3, 8.0 and 8.0 ES (all iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • Caldera Linux (all iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • Mandrake Linux (all iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • Windows NT4, NT4 MSCS (Oracle, DB2, Exchange 5.5* iDAs and MediaAgents)
    • Lotus Domino 5.0.7 amd prior (all iDAs and MediaAgents)

    *CommVault will continue to support Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000.

    December 31, 2005 Extended Assistance Support (EAS) CommVault will provide telephone and electronic support, and fixes for known problems. For QiNetix/Galaxy 4.2, the EAS period ended on December 31, 2005. CommVault does not provide error correction for new problems.
    Please note that we will gladly honor contractual stipulations for the above that are outlined in your CommVault Licensing Agreement.
  • Customer Action —  CommVault strongly recommends customers upgrade to the latest version of QiNetix software as soon as possible to maintain the highest level of support, performance and reliability for their products and systems.
