2010 U.S. Army Symposium

Information Management Conference

The 2010 Information Management Conference (IMC) is being held at the J.W Marriott Hill Country in San Antonio, Texas. This years IMC addresses management, acquisition, implementation, operation, and maintenance of information technology (IT) in support of the mission, goals, and objectives of DOE and its programmatic offices.

While technology is a key element of the conference, the focus is on providing meaningful information and interaction to improve management and maximize value of IT for the agency. Fort Schafter

The Fort Shafter Expo is Day 1 of a week-long Hawaii Expo Series, traveling to five military bases in five days. Fort Shafter is the focal point for command, control, and support of Army forces in the Asia-Pacific region. This post houses the senior Army headquarters leadership in Hawaii and is home to the headquarters of the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC).

This expo is being hosted by the 516th Signal Brigade. The 516th Signal Brigade is a forward based major subordinate operations and maintenance command of the 311th Signal Command, also Headquartered at Fort Shafter. The Brigade supports the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC). The Brigade has five signal battalions, located in Alaska, Hawaii, mainland Japan, and Okinawa, Japan. The 311th and Brigade family are affectionately known throughout the Pacific Theater as "Team Signal." The 516th Signal Brigade's motto is "Voice of the Pacific".

Schofield Barracks

The Schofield Barracks expo is Day 3 of a week-long Hawaii Expo Series, traveling to five military bases in five days. Schofield Barracks was established to provide mobile defense of Pearl Harbor and the entire island. It has been the home of the 25th Infantry Division, known as the Tropic Lightning Division, since 1941 as well as the Command Headquarters for United States Army Hawaii (USARHAW). The 25th Infantry Light Division is a rapid strike force of nearly 12,000 soldiers that focused primarily on training for low intensity conflict throughout the Pacific.

This expo will be hosted by the 30th Signal Battalion, Headquartered at Wheeler Army Airfield, adjacent to Schofield Barracks. The 30th Signal Battalion supports the automation needs of all the U.S. Army units on the islands of Hawaii. This includes Fort Shafter and Schofield Barracks on Oahu, and the Pohakuloa Training Area and Kilauea Military Camp on the Big Island of Hawaii.

HQ US PACOM/Camp Smith

The Camp Smith Expo concludes the week-long Hawaii Expo Series, traveling to five military bases in five days. Camp Smith is the headquarters of Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC), as well as the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) and Special Operations Command Pacific. There are approximately 1,500 marines and support staff located at headquarters MARFORPAC and 500 joint personnel located at headquarters USPACOM.

The host for this expo will be USPACOM J6, whose mission is to provide integrated theater C4 capabilities to the Pacific Command in cooperation with its regional military partners through network operations, operational planning, and coalition interoperability.

AFCEA Belvoir Industry Days 2010

The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association – Belvoir Chapter and the Federal Business Council will co-host the 8th Annual AFCEA Belvoir Industry Days. The purpose of this event is to inform the IT community about the recent successes and the forward-thinking opportunities that the Department of Defense and the Department of the Army have developed.

AFCEA Belvoir Industry Days 2010 will now encompass more than just the Program Executive Office – Enterprise Information Systems (PEO-EIS) aspect of Fort Belvoir, but will also include other various other commands. At Industry Days 2009, over 900 registered attendees, and an additional 550 exhibitors representing 187 industry/government exhibits, gathered together to collaborate and make intelligent partnerships for the way ahead. Through networking, small group discussion opportunities also led to more personal question and answer forums with Program and Project Managers. .
