— Leading CommVault Galaxy Backup and Recovery Software Supports Disk Backups — Offers Cost Competitive Alternative to Tape to Maximize Data Availability —

OCEANPORT, N.J. — March 12, 2003 — CommVault Systems Inc., announced today integration of CommVault® Galaxy™ backup and recovery software with EMC Corporation's (NYSE: EMC) CLARiiON® with ATA, the world's first storage system with integrated ATA and Fibre Channel disk drives. This integration pairs Galaxy software's high performance backup and recovery capabilities, with CLARiiON with ATA's availability and functionality, resulting in a faster, cheaper way for customers to protect their data.

This stride in disk backup delivers a high-speed storage option for critical data access, a cornerstone of most data protection strategies. The combination of CommVault software and cost-effective CLARiiON with ATA storage systems allows customers to better match their data access and availability needs with the cost of storing data. In addition, CommVault Galaxy's ability to seamlessly pool secondary storage into a single shareable resource means that customers can save time, money and the overhead normally associated with deploying and implementing information lifecycle management solutions.

"Customers are continually exploring new ways to bring more information online and extend to it all of the rich functionality of CLARiiON CX networked storage," said Chuck Hollis, vice president of storage platforms marketing at EMC. "With CommVault's Galaxy backup and recovery software and EMC CLARiiON with ATA, we can offer our joint customers the highest levels of data protection and availability at an affordable price."

"CommVault is proud to team with EMC to provide another break-through in fast data backup and recovery", said Dave West, vice president of business development. "The ability to backup customer data to CLARiiON with ATA provides our customers with a trusted solution to incorporate disk into their data protection strategy, helping them match cost and performance to data availability needs."
