CHICAGO, IL — September 20, 2004 — CommVault® Systems, a leading provider of unified data management solutions, today announced at Storage Decisions that CommVault® Galaxy™ backup and recovery software, part of the CommVault QiNetix™ suite, will provide enhanced database and server protection for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services' sites. The new functionality provides customers with individual document recovery for Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 environments. The fast recovery of individual documents gives knowledge workers and administrators improved access to collaborative information, resulting in higher productivity and lower costs. Document level management for SharePoint Products and Technologies is on display at Storage Decisions at CommVault booth #306 and in the CommVault kiosk within the Microsoft Pavilion.

The CommVault Galaxy for SharePoint Products and Technologies solution includes powerful "point-in-time" browse and search capabilities, and enables fast, granular document recovery of individual documents. SharePoint Products and Technologies stores its data within a SQL or SQL based (MSDE) database. CommVault Galaxy also provides granular management of SQL based data.

Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server 2003 facilitate collaboration within an organization. Using the combined collaboration features of SharePoint Products and Technologies, users in an organization can easily create, manage, and build their own collaborative Web sites and make them available throughout the organization. SharePoint Products and Technologies reduce the time needed to search, organize and manage corporate data. Availability
CommVault Galaxy's individual document recovery for Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 environments functionality will be part of CommVault QiNetix Version 5.9, targeted for general availability in the October/November timeframe. Customers who have the current CommVault Galaxy Version 5.0 SharePoint solution and maintenance package, including those in the Galaxy for SharePoint Early Adopter Program will receive the enhancements as part of the general availability release.
