In my experience, there are two types of parties: ones with cake (good) and ones without cake (not so good). Or, as Julia Child once said, “A party without cake is really just a meeting.”
So it wasn’t always a party mood for our customer, Serbia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection – the body responsible for getting the country’s public sector organizations to meet Serbia’s 2020 goal of digitalizing citizen services. The Ministry’s previous backup environment – combined Veeam, BackupExec and Acronis solutions – was complex and time consuming to manage.
Facing a deadline, the Ministry turned to its IT partner, Fractal Dimension, to find and help deploy a single solution to simplify protection for its disparate environment. The Ministry’s IT team needed to be able to support various operating systems while helping remote workers to back up their 400-or-so devices over a public network from distributed locations. Fractal Dimension suggested Commvault Complete™ Backup & Recovery to meet its requirements and reduce management costs. Working with Commvault and Fractal Dimension, the Ministry completed its implementation in six weeks.
Now the Ministry has a central platform for data backup and management to meet current and future needs, one that is easy to set up and use.
“No competing solution on the market offers the same level of organic integration,” said Vladan Kojanić, Head of the IT Administration, Ministry of Environmental Protection.
With Commvault, the Ministry has:
- Centralized and simplified its backup environment
- Increased efficiency. System administrators now manage restores remotely from a central console and employees can restore data without IT staff.
- Saved time. The IT team now spends 70 percent less time managing backups.
Today, the party is at Serbia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection, where the IT team is celebrating easier data management and backups. As Vladan Kojanić said, “Commvault makes data management a piece of cake.”
