  • Hockey Helping Kids: Another Year Skates By

Posted 05/30/2013 by Randy De Meno

There's no "half-time" in hockey, nor half a goal scored in hockey, but a "half" is significant for Commvault as Commvault reached the half million dollar mark this season in our efforts to help children's charities and organizations throughout the USA through our Hockey Helping Kids (HHK) program. Our HHK program has come a long way since its humble beginnings back in Madison Square Garden in 2001 to our most recent event at the Xcel Energy Center in Minneapolis on April 23rd. We've had many sponsors throughout the years assisting us, but first and foremost, we have to acknowledge Microsoft, with several divisions participating this season — Windows Server (with a special shout-out to the GM of Windows Server, Gavriella Schuster), Windows Azure and Microsoft overall. It's easy to understand why they share our passion to give back to the community.

  • CommVault Hockey Helping Kids: Skating for a Sea-Worthy Cause

    Posted 04/10/2013 by Commvault

As one of the newest members of the CommVault family, I was privileged to attend my first CommVault Hockey Helping Kids (HHK) event recently at the Boston Garden. Unlike our usual events, this one took place over a two-day period, in the Boston Bruins NHL venue, but instead of a Bruins game, attendees were treated to dinner and the NCAA Division I Hockey Semi-Finals on Friday evening, March 22nd. This was not a typical one-day HHK event that takes place on NHL ice in conjunction with a game, usually between rival teams. No, this was a different kind of night, but a special one for me.

While the NHL lockout may have delayed the start of CommVault's Hockey Helping Kids Program this year, we're now positioned to skate into the busiest season we've had since we started this program 11 years ago. We've locked down our schedule and we've even managed to book some serious rivalry games around the country as featured events in our hockey schedule.

  • CommVault Would Like To Hear Your 'Tales of Achieving Oneness'

    Posted 11/16/2011 by Commvault

Not long ago, CommVault introduced Achieve Oneness™, a phrase that best describes the unique value of our Simpana® software and our approach to solving today's data management woes. We have captured this message in the myriad of customer case studies we've published in the last year. We're proud of our customers' stories and delighted that we can share how Simpana software's unique single-platform architecture has helped IT solve the challenges they face in managing their data. Every day I speak with customers who are eager to join their peers in sharing their experiences with Simpana software – from the operational efficiencies, to the cost savings, to the reduced risk that they've achieved. And with so many stories out there, we are opening the doors to give our end users the opportunity to share their very own tales with their fellow CommVault community.

  • Hockey Helping Kids 'Homecoming' on the Horizon

Posted 11/16/2011 by Randy De Meno

While this blog will generally be reserved for topics relating to Microsoft technologies and trends, today I'm proud to write about the most recent "CommVault Hockey Helping Kids" event that took place in the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota. We're grateful that our Platinum sponsors; Microsoft and Dell/Compellent as well as the Minnesota Whitecaps (Best USA Women players on the planet) have joined us this season to help various children's charities. Our first of three (maybe four) events this season benefited the Autism Society of Minnesota. Together with the help of the Minnesota Wild hockey club, we raised over $10,000 for the AuSM in their efforts to enhance the lives of individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
