The new Commvault Feature Release enables customers to accelerate cloud adoption, reduce the risk of ransomware and enjoy a unified management experience. FR 11.23 is focused on three areas: protect disaster recovery backups from ransomware, optimize cloud costs with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) live sync replication, and simplify the user experience with a single pane of glass.
To help mitigate the threat of ransomware and other malware, FR 11.23 enhances Commvault’s ransomware protection to include disaster recovery backups. Additionally, the new unusual file anomaly dashboard raises awareness of potential risks within backups and live file systems and provides single click remediation. These features increase platform resiliency against a host of cyber threats, securing data by default, accelerating recovery, and offering actionable monitoring to ensure that data is discoverable, protected, and recoverable at all times.
With FR 11.23, customers can now execute live sync replication for GCP to GCP instances. This allows Commvault users to take full advantage of Google Cloud as a part of their overall cloud strategy, adding the flexibility and cost efficiency they require in today’s multi-cloud environment.
Finally, Commvault is extending its unified management experience to include multi-CommCell environments, enabling the aggregation of jobs and events. It offers a single pane of glass view across multi-CommCell estates, increasing agility and reducing administrative cost. It also provides a foundation for new service models, including Backup as a Service (BaaS).
With this release, users can take full advantage of Commvault’s industry-leading data protection technology across their on-prem, cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid environments, conveniently managing it all through the Commvault Command Center, an intuitive, web-based management interface.
Feature Release 11.23 is currently in Technology Preview. It will be generally available on May 15, 2021.
