The Commvault And INFINIDAT Partnership Breaks New Ground In Enterprise Data Management

We’re extremely excited about Thursday’s announcement regarding the expansion of Commvault’s partnership with INFINIDAT and what this means for customers. This expansion enables INFINIDAT and its resellers to provide a joint solution that combines Commvault’s data management platform and INFINIDAT’s hybrid storage array in a tightly-integrated fashion.

Commvault is a market leader in providing enterprises with innovative, scalable and high-performance solutions that enable end-to-end data management, regardless of where the data resides – on-premises, in public/private clouds, or in hybrid environments.

INFINIDAT has been shaking up the enterprise storage market with disruptive innovation for delivering high-performance petabyte-scale storage out of lower-cost hardware. INFINIDAT’s storage systems can typically be acquired for as little as a third of the cost of All Flash Arrays (AFA). This price/performance is achieved via its machine learning algorithms and patented software. With that in mind, Commvault and INFINIDAT together are able to provide a unified solution that delivers end-to-end data management at unprecedented scale, for both primary and secondary storage use cases.

One common thread that binds, and reinforces, the partnership is an insatiable quest to tackle the toughest data storage and management challenges with highly innovative solutions. Commvault and INFINIDAT’s engineering teams have been working hand in hand the last two years in building and delivering unique joint innovation with the obsession to delight customers.

For example, customers can utilize Commvault IntelliSnap® in conjunction with INFINIDAT’s InfiniSnap technology, running on INFINIDAT’s flagship hybrid array system, InfiniBox. IntelliSnap provides snapshot management for the protection of highly virtualized environments. It can also be used to protect mission critical apps, providing granular recovery down to table level.

More important to our customers is the fact that they get: a seamless experience with the services from both companies and their partner ecosystem; initial design, implementation and operational services delivered by the two companies and their partner ecosystem; and technical support post-implementation.

The Commvault and INFINIDAT solution enables customers to successfully manage the challenge of ever-shrinking backup windows, deliver extremely fast restores (not just fast backups), and achieve stringent RTO/RPO targets. The combined expertise enables accelerated time-to-market with rapid roll-out of complex data management solutions, delivery of a high performance solution at petabyte scale and the ability to better mitigate risks – all while helping to reduce costs.
