As we are all stunned and outraged by George Floyd’s death, I would like to share my message to employees reinforcing that Commvault stands united with the black community and denounces injustice, does not tolerate hate and stands united against acts of racism and violence.
Like you, I have been watching cities unravel in protest and unrest over the last five days in response to Floyd’s death in Minneapolis, Minn. Today we are thinking of his family, friends and all who are mourning this tragic loss. Words fall short of expressing our sorrow and outrage.
Heinous, inhumane acts against the black community inflame deep-seated trauma and pain, especially for our communities of color. At Commvault, we denounce injustice, do not tolerate hate and stand against acts of racism and violence. This is our commitment to our employees, clients and the communities we live in around the world.
Together, we must forge ahead and conquer the barriers of discrimination to achieve our full potential as a society. As an organization, we stand for equity, inclusion and diversity, and believe that knowledge and ideas empower us to change the world. Our entire team, along with Orly Lynn, Global Head of Inclusion and Diversity, is committed to fostering an environment here at Commvault that embraces these principles and increasing our awareness of race-related issues. After all, our differences are what make us strong.
Thank you for sharing in and fostering this way of life. There is a path forward, but we have to be on it together.
Be safe, be supportive.
Sanjay Mirchandani is Commvault’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
