But what about the future? In recent conversations with customers and partners, we’ve consistently heard one thing: the complexity and expense of protecting data in a hybrid world is overwhelming security and IT teams everywhere.
Why? Much of it has to do with the modern threats coming from the new wave of pervasive, rapidly proliferating, and increasingly autonomous threats we’re seeing every day. The attacks may be new, but the approach most are taking to stop them is not. They require a more modern approach that spans protection and cyber resilience and brings together the power of AI with the flexibility and ease of SaaS. For instance, our latest capabilities for Metallic ThreatWise provide customers cyber deception tactics in addition to traditional protection, helping to uncover unknown threats, contain and limit exposure windows, and flag ransomware activity before it takes hold.
Not only is this the only way to ensure that today’s hybrid business has uniform protection across all its data and workloads, wherever they live, it sharply reduces infrastructure costs and complexity. Having one data protection platform with software and SaaS enables you to manage your entire experience across your environment. And the automation and machine learning we’ve built into our offerings makes it easier for customers to recover their data in the event of an issue.
It’s a new vision of what data protection should and must become as the modern threatscape continues to evolve. A vision backed by a major investment in innovations that we’ll be revealing through some exciting new capabilities in the coming months. Stay tuned.
