Para comemorar o Mês da Herança Hispânica em toda a nossa comunidade global da Vaulter, nossos Grupos de Recursos para Funcionários (ERGs) “Multicultura” e “Mulheres na Tecnologia” organizaram um evento virtual enriquecedor e inspirador, com a participação da aclamada autora Patricia Engel.
Patricia, a New York Times bestselling author, graced our Vaulter community with a keynote address that highlighted how her Colombian heritage and culture have shaped her worldview and influenced her celebrated writing career. Patricia treated us to a reading from her latest book, The Faraway World, a captivating collection of stories that explore the themes of belonging, migration, and identity.
Durante a conversa, Patricia compartilhou reflexões profundamente pessoais sobre suas experiências ao crescer em um lar bicultural em Nova Jersey. Ela falou sobre como os contrastes entre a educação colombiana que recebeu em casa e a sociedade americana lá fora moldaram tanto sua perspectiva quanto sua escrita.
Patricia destacou a importância de sua comunidade de imigrantes como fonte de resiliência e inspiração, abordando as complexidades da identidade, do sentimento de pertencimento e dos sacrifícios feitos por aqueles que deixam sua terra natal em busca de um futuro melhor.
