Celebrating and Honoring Memorial Day

As the executive sponsor of Commvault’s VALOR (Veterans and Allies) Employee Resource Group (ERG), one of the most privileged duties is sharing heartfelt thoughts with all Vaulters and our Allies as we honor Memorial Day this Monday, May 26. Many of our international teams observed similar Remembrance Day events over the last few months.

Memorial Day is a U.S. holiday that honors and remembers service veterans who have fallen or passed away. On this day, I encourage each of us to take a moment to reflect and remember those who have courageously sacrificed their lives and express gratitude for their bravery and selflessness. Increasingly, we all need to look to our left and right to find comfort, trust, and support to help us reach the top of the hill.

As a U.S. Navy veteran, I am honored to help lead the inspiring Vaulters who are a part of our VALOR ERG. VALOR is dedicated to raising awareness about the value our veterans bring to the private and public sectors.   

VALOR aims to enhance veteran recruitment and retention at Commvault, while strengthening our community outreach and fostering a military-friendly culture. We raise awareness of the value our veterans bring to the private sector by creating programs to honor them and their families, which also preserve their legacies. VALOR is a place where veterans and allies at Commvault connect, collaborate, celebrate, and learn.  

On that note, we recently announced our partnership with the Warrior Canine Connection (WCC). This organization utilizes Mission-Based Trauma Recovery along with therapeutic service dogs to empower veterans who have sustained physical and psychological wounds.   

Together, through our partnership, we will help enhance veteran resilience and support military heroes in reconnecting with life, their families, their communities, and one another through the healing power of service animals. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of an organization that supports the veteran community.
