Here at Commvault, we’re proud to observe the Juneteenth holiday to commemorate history and celebrate African American culture.
Juneteenth is celebrated in the United States on June 19 to honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States and pay tribute to those who fought for change. Recognizing and honoring the importance of African American culture in the fabric of our multi-culture society is a thread in cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive society.
Within our global Vaulter community, we continue to honor the theme “Equity in Action” to reinforce our values that embrace diversity and honor the history of those who came before us.
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team and Multi-Culture Employee Resource Group (ERG) create space for conversations around diversity and inclusion in the workplace. During our global Black History Month this past February, we partnered with UNCF for one event and another event with the Black employees at Microsoft (BAM) ERG – Miami, Florida Chapter with featured speaker former NBA player, Baron Davis, for a Courageous Conversations on combating bias in the technology industry. Our goal is to pave the way for discussions that create awareness on topics close to our hearts. As we always say – you have to have the conversation to change the conversation! This is a key part of our global culture and core values.
By embracing the stories and experiences of the Black community, we aim to cultivate a workplace that promotes equity, understanding, and unity among all Vaulters, especially regarding our African American Vaulters.
