A combination of on-site (private cloud) infrastructure and off-site (public cloud) infrastructure with an interface between the two. Hybrid clouds are becoming popular in organizations where security and data privacy restrictions make it difficult or impossible to move certain applications or data into the public cloud. By using a tiered approach, sensitive data can reside on private cloud infrastructure, while less sensitive data can leverage the speed and agility of the public cloud.
