Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) Just Became Easier with Cisco and Commvault

We’re incredibly excited to announce today the formalization of Commvault’s relationship with Cisco. Here’s what is launching:
Just about every organization today is looking at how to leverage cloud infrastructures to improve the speed, agility, and affordability of IT. Trouble is, it’s still a relatively brave new world when it comes to these new technologies, and there is still a massive need for tools, education and help to implement these solutions as efficiently as possible – so that organizations can get to the value of the cloud quickly and without as much uncertainty and risk.
That is why this new CVD for BaaS is so valuable. The reference architectures take a lot of the experimentation and guesswork out of the process for organizations looking to build BaaS solutions powered by Commvault and Cisco UCS 3000 platform. No longer do they have to figure out every aspect themselves – they can benefit from solution design and testing that have already been jointly performed and documented by Cisco and Commvault teams working together.
With the BaaS & RaaS (Recovery-as-a-Service) combined market expected to grow to $1B in size, our partnership is anchored in an area that we believe has plenty of opportunity. What’s more, given Backup & Recovery is the No. 1 and No. 3 most-listed application for hosted private cloud and public cloud respectively, we know there is plenty of need out there in the IT user and services community. This new CVD for BaaS will enable cloud service providers and customers to accelerate time-to-value and reduce implementation risks. The BaaS reference architectures encompass both in-cloud backup and backup-to-cloud use cases.
Get the scoop directly from Todd Brannon, Director of Product Marketing for Cisco UCS, on what it means for their customers and cloud partners.
Our partnership already existed at the grass roots level with our mutual sales, partner and customer communities, but we are formalizing it to invest in codifying these solution building blocks so our customers and partners don’t have to go at it on their own. See what some of our partners have to say about what these new solutions mean for their business.
No matter where your company is in your transition to the cloud, Commvault and Cisco together can help you achieve benefits faster, eliminating wasted time to get there and allowing you to keep up with market needs. These solutions simplify data protection and reduce risk, and help build scalable data centers that leverage Cisco investments.
We’re so excited to break this new ground together! If you’re interested in learning more about how Commvault and Cisco can address your organization’s data protection needs, stop by our booth #3313 at Cisco Live! in San Diego this week. We look forward to helping you build powerful cloud data protection solutions with ease and success.
